And, indeed a lot has happened since the reissue of No Pictures. Lady Lake were asked to play several radio shows including the Xymphonia Show in Almelo, Holland. The night before this radio show they played at the still existing 'Ei van Columbus' in their former hometown Deventer where the band were joined by our friends of the Dutch band Flamborough Head. And that night proved to be very special......

A few days before this gig the band received word from England that both Colin and Stewart Goldring (the original Gnidrolog Bros.!) would like to visit this show, and so they did. They really became friends and the night was too short to catch up on everything they had to tell eachother. By the way, Colin and Stewart memorized this event on the latest Gnidrolog album Gnosis with the instrumental song 'Deventer.'
They promised to keep in touch and maybe do something together musically in the future.
Lady Lake also played the iO Pages' 1998 ProgHeaven Festival in Uden, NL, where they proudly shared the bill with a fine selection of today's prog acts: Landmarq, Abraxas, Aqualung and The Nightwatch.
Friend Carsten Busch of 'File Under Symfo/Background Magazine'-fame recorded this gig and wonderfully captured the great atmosphere. Some sound samples from this gig will soon be available on this website's music page.

A year later (most bands in this genre aren't really able to perform very often, as most of you readers probably know) Lady Lake performed at the 1999 ProgFarm Festival in Bakkeveen, Holland together with Sinkadus, Janison Edge, Flamborough Head, ReGenesis and.... Gnidrolog!
Yes, real Prog History took place in Bakkeveen when Lady Lake shared the stage with Colin and Stewart Goldring of Gnidrolog, performing Gnidrolog's anti-war epic 'I Could Never Be A Soldier', indeed from the legendary album 'Lady Lake'.
As Simon Hill on the New Horizons website wrote:

[Quote]....the Goldring twins joined Lady Lake on stage to perform the Gnidrolog song 'I Could Never Be a Soldier'. This was the first time that the song had been performed by a full band for some 27 years - and the result was a piece of pure magic. Although all the musicians performed impecabbly, special mention must be made of Colin Goldring's amazing recorder playing during this song which made a very powerful impact. The entire performance was very smooth and gave no clues to the fact that Lady Lake and Gnidrolog had only had a brief period the night before to rehearse the piece, never having played together before! The obvious enjoyment of all five musicians was infectious with emotions running very high. I have to say the resulting applause was well deserved.[Unquote]

Lady Lake's story apparently has a tendency to go on. They don't really mind, actually they love it! And the best thing is: there's still more to come! Leendert, Fred and Jan have been composing and recording demo's for a good year and the results are actually more rewarding than they could have hoped for... though not for weakhearted Prog-sissies...          Please check out this website regularly to stay informed about all current and future Lady Lake activities, music, concert dates, pictures, sound clips etc etc.
